Q: Do hired vehicles from SHB come with insurance?
A: SHB do not provide insurance and customers will be required to provide evidence of their full comprehensive cover.
Q: What do you charge for delivery and collection?
A: Charges for delivery and collection are determined by type of vehicle and distances involved. These will be confirmed when making your booking.
Q: What hours/days are you open?
A: Our opening hours are; Monday to Friday 08.00 - 18.00, Saturday 08.00 - 13.00, Sundays and bank holidays closed.
Q: Do SHB allow tow bars to be fitted to their vehicles or do they supply vehicles already fitted?
A: SHB can provide vehicles with tow bars at the start of the hire or can modify them at a later date if required. The customer will need to advise the hire desk if a tachograph will also be needed in line with O Licence legislation.
Q: What if we want to take our SHB hire vehicle abroad?
A: Please notify us within 2-3 working days before taking your SHB hire vehicle abroad. You will need the VE103 paperwork that we charge at £25.00 +VAT, 5* European Breakdown Cover and fully comprehensive insurance covering vehicles abroad. SHB offer a European package costing a £120 + VAT one off charge, this includes the VE103 form and the 5* European Breakdown Cover.
This Offer must be agreed to prior to taking any SHB vehicle outside the UK. An original copy of the VE103 should be in the driver's possession. Proof of alternative European cover must be disclosed prior to delivery of the vehicles should the customer wish to opt out of the SHB breakdown cover option.
Q: Are we able to purchase our SHB vehicle when we off hire it?
A: Our customers can generally purchase, or obtain a price to purchase, any SHB vehicle that is over 20 months old. For our current sales list visit http://www.shb.co.uk/sales.html
Q: Do SHB offer a flexi-rent option?
A: We specialise in a number of flexible solutions tailored to our customer’s needs. We offer spot, flexi, contract hire, lease and buy back options as well as a variety of fleet management packages.
Q: Do you provide speed limiters for your vehicles?
A: SHB can provide vehicles fitted with speed limiters, if required. These can be set at an agreed limit, dependant on customer choice and their terms of contract. Additional charges may apply.
Q: Do SHB offer one-way hires?
A: Utilising our national depots SHB are able to offer one-way hires without incurring an additional penalty (standard delivery and collection charges may still apply).
Q: Are we able to fit our own brand/logo to SHB hire vehicles?
A: If required customers are able to add their own livery to an SHB vehicle, however a small charge may apply for the removal of our existing logo and for the removal of the customer’s livery on return.
Q: What if I’m returning the vehicle late or wish to extend the hire?
A: If you wish to extend your hire vehicle beyond the original date and time we would request that you notify us as soon as possible to avoid any abortive collection charges being incurred.
Q: What is SHB’s fuelling policy?
A: All vehicles will be delivered with a minimum of a quarter tank of fuel unless a different arrangement has been agreed upon at the point of order by the customer and SHB, or agreed as per any customer specific Service Level Agreement.
