SHB recently supported Naomi House Children's Hospice by donating a number of vehicles for a charity bike ride across the South Downs Way. Naomi House and Jacksplace provide support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions across central southern England. The charity offers planned and emergency respite stays, end of life and bereavement care. This support is available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
A group of 21 people from the South of England with ages ranging from 22 through to 52 with mixed cycling abilities did the ride in two days and raised over £5,000.
“Thanks very much for sorting the loan vehicles for our charity ride, SHB were really helpful and provided good vehicles, perfect for what we needed. We had a safe cycle with no injuries and have gone over our target for fundraising of £5,000”. Crispin Brocks
“Families who have children with life-limiting illnesses go through constant struggles to care for their little ones. Thanks to the support of this team of amazing cyclists and the generosity of SHB we can be there for these families and welcome them to our hospice to enjoy precious moments together. Thanks to SHBs loan of vehicles for the challenge, all of the funds raised through sponsorship can go directly to the charity and could help fund over 100 play activity sessions for seriously ill children and their siblings. It could fund messy art afternoons, fun in our hydrotherapy pool or memorable trips out to local attractions, all of which will help make short lives special. Thank you so much for supporting us!”
