.Insurance is not included and SHB do not provide insurance. Customers will be required to provide evidence of their full comprehensive cover.
.SHB can provide vehicles with tow bars at the start of the hire or can modify them at a later date if required. The customer will need to advise the hire desk if a tachograph will also be needed in line with O Licence legislation.
.Please notify us within 2-3 working days before taking your SHB hire vehicle abroad. You will need the Vehicle on Hire Certificate that we charge at £25.00 +VAT, 5* European Breakdown Cover and fully comprehensive insurance covering vehicles abroad. SHB offer a European package costing a £120 + VAT one off charge, this includes the Vehicle on Hire Certificate and the 5* European Breakdown Cover.
This Offer must be agreed to prior to taking any SHB vehicle outside the UK. An original copy of the Vehicle on Hire Certificate should be in the driver's possession. Proof of alternative European cover must be disclosed prior to delivery of the vehicles should the customer wish to opt out of the SHB breakdown cover option.

.Charges for delivery and collection are determined by type of vehicle and distances involved. These will be confirmed when making your booking.
.All vehicles will be delivered with a minimum of a quarter tank of fuel unless a different arrangement has been agreed upon at the point of order by the customer and SHB, or agreed as per any customer specific Service Level Agreement.
All fuel will be charged as per the previous months AA report on UK average fuel price + £0.35ppl
.If required customers are able to add their own livery to an SHB vehicle, however a small charge may apply for the removal of our existing logo and for the removal of the customer’s livery on return.
.As part of the Mayor’s and the Transport for London’s (TfL) commitment to making London’s roads safer they will be introducing the London Safer Lorry Scheme as of the 1 September, 2015. This will mean that from this date vehicles over 3.5 tonnes will be required to:
The scheme will operate across London, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, covering the same area as the Low Emission Zone. The scheme will be enforced by the Metropolitan Police Service, City of London Police and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
If in charge of a non-compliant vehicle:
Drivers may be issued with a £50 fixed penalty notice
The offence also carried a potential fine of £1000 at Magistrate’s court
The Traffic Commissioner will be notified of companies operating vehicle in breach of the scheme
Please ensure that when you are booking your vehicle you advise our Hire Controllers that the vehicle will be operating in London and will need to be compliant to the scheme. If you already have SHB vehicles in London and you are not sure whether they are compliant then please contact your day-to-day SHB contact.

Yes, scheduled cleaning of the welfare unit and the toilet can be arranged, speak to your local hire desk/controller for more information and prices.
.Many Euro 6 diesel compliant engines require an exhaust additive called AdBlue which neutralises the harmful NOx emissions engines. Most new vehicles carry sufficient quantity to last between scheduled service intervals, however due to the style of journeys and driving some will use up the Adblue reserves more quickly. This means the additive will need to be topped up by the driver and checking Adblue levels should be part of your vehicle daily checks.
.Utilising our national depots SHB are able to offer one-way hires without incurring an additional penalty (standard delivery and collection charges may still apply).

.We are able to provide buggy chauffeurs for your events but we do not provide drivers for vehicles or plant.
.If you wish to extend your hire vehicle beyond the original date and time we would request that you notify us as soon as possible to avoid any abortive collection charges being incurred.
.SHB can provide vehicles fitted with speed limiters, if required. These can be set at an agreed limit, dependant on customer choice and their terms of contract. Additional charges may apply.
